What does The Cutline do?
The Cutline is a signage and print studio in Alberton, Gauteng that produces cut vinyl decals, printed stickers, banners, vehicle decals and lettering, and wall and window graphics. We handle artwork setup, printing, cutting and on-site fitment in-house, and courier finished products anywhere in South Africa.
Where is The Cutline based and which areas do you serve?
The Cutline is based in Alberton, Gauteng, and serves the greater Gauteng area, including Johannesburg and the East Rand, for on-site fitment and installation of signage, vehicle decals and window graphics. For decals, stickers and banners that don’t need on-site fitting, we courier nationwide to anywhere in South Africa.
What's the difference between printed decals and cut vinyl decals?
Cut vinyl decals are cut from a single sheet of coloured vinyl, so the design is the vinyl itself with no printed background, which is ideal for logos, lettering and single-colour graphics. Printed decals are digitally printed in full colour and then cut to shape, which suits photos, gradients and detailed multi-colour artwork. We produce both and will recommend the best option for your design, surface and budget.
Do you do vehicle decals, lettering and wraps?
Yes. Vehicle decals and cut or printed lettering for cars, bakkies, trailers and fleet vehicles are a core service, and we fit them on site in Gauteng. We handle decals and lettering in-house and partner with a trusted specialist for full vehicle wraps. Applied and removed correctly, vehicle vinyl does not damage factory paint that is in good condition, as it is designed to be removable.
What banners and large-format prints do you offer?
We print durable PVC banners for outdoor use and lighter banners for indoor and event use, in custom sizes with hemmed edges and eyelets ready to hang. Pull-up (roll-up) banners for expos, shops and reception areas are also available. Tell us the size and where it will hang, and we will recommend the right material and finish.
Do you do window graphics, wall vinyl and shopfront signage?
Yes. We produce shopfront lettering, printed and frosted (cut) window graphics, one-way vision window film, and interior wall vinyl and murals. These are measured and fitted on site across Gauteng to give shops, offices and homes a clean, professional finish.
How long do vinyl decals and signage last outdoors?
Quality outdoor vinyl typically lasts 3 to 7 years, depending on the material grade, the colour and how much direct sun it gets. We use vinyl suited to South African conditions and match the material to the job, whether it is an indoor sticker, a shop window, or a vehicle that lives outside.
What artwork or files do you need, and can you help with design?
Vector files (PDF, AI, EPS, SVG or CDR) give the cleanest results, especially for cut vinyl and lettering, but we also work with high-resolution PNG or JPG for printed items. If you don’t have print-ready artwork, we can set your logo up for production or design something from scratch.
How do I get a quote and how long does an order take?

Most standard decal, sticker and banner orders are ready within a few working days; larger or design-heavy jobs may take longer, and we confirm the timeline upfront so you know what to expect.
